The Hills are Not Alive!

Bloggie friends!! The Horror! The Horror!

I’ve just discovered that one of the part-timers I work with has NEVER SEEN
THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

?!?!?!!?

At least she’s heard of the film.

So what if she’s in her early 20’s?!?! That really is no excuse is it?!?!

Charlie says: Your horror is balanced by my joy. I have pressies from far away!

Awww thank you so much beautiful Bin of ".. desperate reluctant housewife" for these wonderful pressies!!! The package was such a lovely surprise, thank you so much!

Have a tabby Tuesday everyone!

Yup, that certainly is no excuse... But oh well... By the time she turns 25, she will have it seen- thanks to you :).

What nice presses... Yaay to Charlie!

How you that human know if the hills are alive or not? Look at that big smile you've got Charlie...lots of goodies!

Uh-oh. I'm guilty of this atrocity. I've seen the first few minutes of the movies (just long enough for the song "Sixteen going on Seventeen") but that's it. I usually love musicals, but this one just never really connected with me.

Her age is no excuse for not seeing the Sound of Music. Horror upon Horror!

Charlie is looking very pleased with himself surrounded by pressies!

Have a great Tuesday.

I have a confession - I'm in my forties and I've never watched The Sound of Music in its entirety, though I have seen parts of it. Does that count?

My comment got eaten! We guessed your co worker was too young - good movie but it is a oldie - like us I'm afraid. Lovely pressies Charlie.

Congratulations on your loot!

Sound of Music? It's not like it came out when we were kids. It had been around way before that! I think the problem is we have so many channels, so many shows - we don't all have a collective experience from the classics anymore.

1965. Yes - before our time. I just looked it up.

It amazes me that some people, even though young, have no idea what we classier people have grown up with. =)

The problem is this. We're getting old. It's sad but true. There are great movies I've never seen that my mother grew up with. I try not to let it get to me because if I do, then I remember my age, and that is kind of depressing! LOL

I've never seen it either! I keep meaning to watch as it is iconic, but then I get distracted by True Blood or an action movie. :p I will watch, I promise!

I am in my twenties, and I know about it! But then, my Dad and I are totally into musicals. When I turned 14, we were vacationing in Germany, so my parents took me to Austria to see where it was filmed. I was super-excited.

My Dad says they're "alive with the sound of MUCUS". I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree!

Hello Charlie, Jenn,

I love Sound of Music ... probably because I'm not in my early 20's'!!
Hahaha - you've just made me realise I've aged!

Well, I am glad the package arrived safely - hopefully I am not too silly!!

Have a great Tuesday my wonderful friends!

That is quite horrific. My kids are under the age of 14 and they've seen it already. In fact, I feel it's time to see it again. ;)

Btw, congrats on Cassastar! WOot! :)

First of all, congrats on the gift. They look wonderful.

Second, how could someone not have watched the classic... come to think of it, my son has never seen it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Have a great week.

The Sound of Music is one of those films that should be prescribed viewing before the age of ten, and then every year thereafter!

Love it.

I first saw it when I was 16, coming on 17. It was one of my favourite things – other than whiskers on kittens that is (please don’t tell Charlie).

Have a good day, Boonie

How lovely of Bin to send presents! A wonderful surprise indeed. :-)

So this co-worker hasn't seen "The Sound of Music?"

Well, she IS young. Very young. I think that's a valid excuse. Really. LOL. Just a couple of weeks ago I had a brain spasm and couldn't think of Julie Andrews' name. Took me some time to remember it! Doesn't bode well for my progressing middle years.

What lovely pressies! Charlie looks like he's in his element there.

Our Mom hasn't seen it either...she has a problem watching old movies! We are horrified!

I made my kids sit down and watch it with me this spring. They were six, four, and two. and they loved all threefrickinhours of it!

Wow - I didn't think that was possible! It must be rectified at once. :)

Lovely pressies!

Our mum has seen Sound of Music once but she has avoided it since.
We will have to get some one to teach us the whiskers on kittens song so we can get rid of her when the flashy box is in our faces!!
Charlie's got some great loot there - it was lovely of Bin to send him all those goodies.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

I guess there are people out there that just don't like watching good old fashioned, wholesome family movies because they have singing in them! :)

Charlie looks like he has a few new pressies to keep him busy!

Viewing TSOM should really be mandatory, Kitty. It's one of my all-time favorites! Charlie looks like he's in heaven. What a handsome, lucky guy.

No! Lend or buy said film and insist she watches it immediately. And I mean immediately. How on Earth has she made this far? Next you'll be telling me she hasn't see bambi...

Oh. My. Goodness! That is a shock! My oldest child is 13 and they've all already seen The Sound of Music. LOL. "They" - the TV people used to show it all of the time. I don't know if "they" do that anymore.

What fun goodies and a gorgeous kitty, too! =D

I find it hard to imagine never having seen the Sound of Music. It's one of my favourite musicals of all time!!! That must be corrected quickly!

That was my one of my daughter's favorite movies ...I'm sure your co-worker would enjoy seeing it.

Wonderful presents from a thoughtful friend!

Goodness! I almost fell off my chair with that shocking news! How could anyone not know about "Sound of Music" for goodness sakes? And how could anyone not be exposed to "The Hills Are Alive"? Not knowing those 2 things is like not realizing that Prince Charles finally married Camilla or that Princess Diana died in a car crash!

Must confess : I've only seen it just recently myself. I rather hated things like this when I was younger. But it's very good isn't it? Seen the stage musical too actually : also excellent.
