Earwigging Insanity

Overheard in the lobby of the brand new library I joined a few months ago:

Girl 1: It’s one of those old-school libraries.
Girl 2: Like how?
Girl 1: They expect you to be quiet and to read.

Bloggie friends – one of these days I will be arrested for earwigging and repeating dialogue verbatim!

The judge might not take kindly to me pleading “I am an artist and a student of life!”

Charlie says: In your case, I’d plead insanity.

Have a whale of a Wednesday everyone!

Oh my gosh it has been so long since I have been here - I hate that I am so behind. And boy, this post made me giggle because I know people just like those girls (and they make me nuts). They are so clueless! And can I just say I have never heard of joining a library - that makes it sound so fancy and awesome!

And Hi Charlie! We have missed seeing you - we will try to stop by more often!!

I'm sorry Charlie is not well, hugs to you and that silly cow kitty :)

I like libraries, and one of the reasons for it is it's quiet :).

Oh, I feel old.., :)

LOL, I like that. who knows the judge might find it creative.

How's Charlie doing?

Well, I'm guilty of ease-dropping and I love doing it.

Such a happy insanity!! Earwigging. Love it!!! So does Jen.

So glad Charlie got some more medicine to perk him up! These viruses just hang on. I have a wee one in my sinuses that won't go away, and I don't usually get such things. Bad weather!!

But here are thoughts for a good day tomorrow for you and Charlie from me and Jen!!!

It's not like those modern libraries where you do karaoke.

It's not eavesdropping when your'e a writer - it's research. Not only expected, but insisted upon.

Hey, when I was in writing classes we had to do that as an actual homework assignment. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, awwww...fluffy kitty! ;)

I love that and your defence is even better, I am your eavesdropping twin, I write down the little snippets and keep them for my stories.

What else would you do in a library? LOL.

Big smooches and lots of purrs to sweet Charlie; we hope he's feeling better.

What a quaint old fashioned Library!

Charlie looks like he's feeling pretty good - I hope he's improving!

Keep on eavesdropping - it's a requirement of the craft. :)

Eavesdropping is good for writers!

I hope Charlie is feeling better now.

lol- too funny. What would a 'new-school' library be then?

Hope Charlie's feeling better!

Have a nice day, Boonie

We hope that Charlie is feeling better today.
Mum was laughing about our local library (it probably has less books than one shelf in yours) it is usually a gossip shop but I love to loiter because I hear the most amusing things!!

PRICELESS! 'They expect you to be quiet and read'.

Too funny. You made me snort out loud!

Quiet libraries are definitely the best kind!

Big purrs and smooches to Charlie! We hope he's feeling better!

I figure so long as you don't give them their real names, you are okay. Probably don't go telling them you blog, either... and if you put them in a book, change the location a bit... people's memories are short...

Move here! New York City is such a wonderful place to eavesdrop...
there are whole blogs and newspaper columns devoted to it! :)

I love that you eavesdrop regularly - I do too and never thought about the judge worry. Then again, who remembers exactly what they said two or three years before... yeah, you're probably safe. Go verbatim. ;)

Love to eavesdrop - funny what you hear. I am hearing impaired so I read lips which can be even better!

Huh? "Old School" Libraries???
Now, I am feeling old!

Well, Charlie, I'd plead insanity too! (Glad you are feeling better?)

Between earwigging and camera shooting, I've often wondered how Charlie reacts whenever you get your camera out.

LOL! We hope Charlie is on the mend. Continued purrs for him.

What's this? Be quiet and read at a library. Well, hush my mouth :-)
I have several memories of the high school librarian making this funny 'ssshhhhh' noise and shaking her head in disgust.
I'm being 'sentenced' by a judge for committing crimes against grammar. I was told to expect a very long sentence. In fact, a run-on sentence.
Have a weird and wacky Wednesday:-)
In kindness, Gary

Lol. That library conversation is so funny. Thanks for sharing it, Kitty. Give Charlie a pat and remind him how lucky he is to have you as a friend.
