Highlighting dense fluff

Bloggie friends! These are some of my highlights in the past week:

I baked Herman! He was very yummy if a little dense! LOL!

I entered this writerly competition. Unfortunately I saw it the day before the deadline and rushed off an entry with the minimal edits and re-writes. I doubt I’ll get anywhere! Let that be a lesson to you all budding writers – never rush your stories!

I tried my hand at “fluffy American pancakes” with varying degrees of fluffiness success!

I swooned at the Aussie vs All Blacks rugby game (the match was pretty awesome too LOL!)

Charlie says: All week I search for autumn.

Yes, bloggie friends! It’s only 68 days to Christmas!

Those yummy things smell so good! Hey, why isn't my Christmas tree up, we're running out of time!

Yes, Herman looks very familiar! Funny how that "friendship cake" recipe can stay the same across continents. And your pancakes appear to be fluffy and delicious, just awaiting a mound of butter and maple syrup!

Kitty! Always good to read a post from you. And I like fluffy pancakes, so those look good to me.

I think the fluff in your pancakes looks perfect. Something about you baking Herman just makes me giggle. ;-) Cheers to another fluffy, fun week!

Eden Park where the Rugby World Cup semi-final was played is literally just down the road from our house (we could walk to the grounds). I was way too nervous to watch the game but could hear the cheering from my bedroom. T'was a great game - bring on the final :)

I say yay for you for writing something at the last minute and entering anyway. You go, girl! Those pancakes look mighty fine and yummy!

Patsy said...

tut tut, Kitty. You have no excuse for being so late with that competition - I blogged about it weeks ago!

Good luck with your entry though and well done for coming up with something and sending it off, despite the rush.

Charlie, you come here and we can look for SPRING together!!

Oh, Kitty! I was trying to forget Christmas! I dare say the shops will soon be full of it and the supermarket shelves will be hijacked by toys, fripperies and all those tempting goodies that play merry hell with good intentions.

Fuzzy Tales said...

Your baking/cooking efforts look yummy! The pancakes look perfect to me--what's different about pancakes in your part of the world? Are they more like crepes?

I caught bits of rugby this weekend too--have no idea who was playing or who was winning. Frankly, I couldn't tear my eyes away from all the yummy thighs! Whew!

Smooches to Charlie!

P.S. The word verification is "tease," which is what all those rugby players' legs were!

Who are you calling Dense!?
Who are you calling Fluffy!?

Well, they both look delicious. Glad you had a fun week.

Highlighting dense fluff? I feared for a moment you'd somehow intuited that I did a rare bit of hoovering this morning...

Scratches to Charlie. There's autumn all over the place here~

Good luck with the competition entry. I do things like that write something and send it in without enough rewrites and edits. x

Herman seems to have turned out pretty good...if "looks" count!

And those American pancakes; I'm American and I don't recall any of my pancakes looking so scrumptious!

Charlie, we're in our autumn, too.

Thanks for telling mum how few shopping days there are for Mum to get all our Christmas presents - we'll have to look through all the magazines and leave them open at the required pages! Has Charlie done his list for you yet Jenn?
Sorry to hear you cut your entry being tight for time but it it's read last it will be remembered better than the earlier ones.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

68 days until Christmas-unbelievable. Wow Herman has changed. In the Sea there are Crocodiles was first published in Italian so I am sure you can get it there. Do you need a good recipe for pancakes?

Charlie will find a bustery autumn here today.

Noooo....it can't only be 68 days to Crimbo!! Dear Father Christmas....

I had to hop back to find the history of Herman - what a lovely idea! A friendship cake. And no worries if he was a little dense. Friends are supposed to be there through thick and thin, after all!

(Boom, Boom! says Basil.)

Tell Charlie I'm searching for autumn, too. But considering I'm wrapped in a shawl today and have gloves in my bag, I think I found it!

The trick to American Pancakes is in the skillet, really. You need a nice thick cast iron one, then once you get the heat right, it is a breeze. Yours look pretty good for a first attempt. Good luck with the contest.
Tell katnip lounge that almost anything would taste wonderful with a bit of chianti.
Cheers,
Kat
