My Staycation temptation, part 1

So far, I baked this chocolate chip banana loaf but do not understand why all the chocolate chips sank to the bottom? LOL!

In the meantime, Charlie helps me tidy the bed.

Tomorrow I shall wow you all with my next baking project.

Bloggie friends, I hope to introduce you to … The COB! (It’s a big round bread thing!)

p.s. Has anyone been tempted by Bad Blogger’s very tempting “Try the updated Blogger interface” link that it insists on putting up on my dashboard?!?! Bad blogger! I just know that if I do click on this link it'll all end in (my) tears! So I won't, na-ah!

Holidays are such fun! Love you all!

Chocolate chip and banana loaf sound awesome, no matter where the chocolate chips end up!

We try to refrain from doing any major things to our bloggie. Mom is super duper slow when it comes to updating it to anything new.

Yum the cake looks delish!

Aha, maybe if you stuck a 'Hob Knob' biscuit in it, you'd have a 'Hob Knob Cob':)
Had a look at that new interface. Immediately returned to the old interface. Now, if only I could do something with my face, eh LOL
Take care,
x

chocolate chips weigh more, thus they sink. I'm guessing it still tasted pretty good :)

as for charlie, isn't he doing what all cats do? Help with the bed clothes?

Hello Old Kitty... the cake looks scrumptious! It doesn't matter WHERE the choc chips end up; it only matters that they are in there somewhere!

Like you, I have so far avoided the lure of the 'updated blogger'! Perhaps those braver than us will try it first and report back ;-)

I haven't tried that new interface but it scares me. However, even though the chips are at the bottom, the cake looks lovely.

I'm not doing updated Blogger anything! I now crave stability--which I have with WordPress. Now I'm just hoping for cool weather soon so I'll feel like posting. I'm in a slump with that lately. I think I could do better with this if I could be a clone of you!

I HAVE been where you are today with your banana loaf. My baking skills have deteriorated greatly over the past decade--and they weren't too great before THAT. I'm more, like Charlie, for tidying the bed.

Coming over here always cheers me up! I should have come over sooner.

A big HI from Jen, too!!

It's OK where ever the choc chips are.... top, bottom... just as long as they are there. LOL Looks great. A big bread thing. I love big bread with lots of butter.

I looked at the new blogger interface, wasn't tempted at all.
Let me know why the choc. chips sunk to the bottom...I've had similar problems.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Not been tempted. And sorry about your bread. Bet it tasted good.
Missed you while you were gone!

Lydia Kang said...

I'll volunteer to eat the lower half, if that makes you feel better. LOL!

Ok if you turn the cake upside down then the chocolate chips will be at the top! (it's all in how you look at it! lol)

Yes...I did the "click" on the new Blogger interface tonight.

I am working on figuring it out, typed my post for tomorrow using it, scheduled it to post at 1:15am (we will see if that works) Like anything else it will take time to get used to but if you go slowly it is fairly easy to figure out. I think they are trying to make it a little like WordPress.

I am hoping that in a few days if I haven't adjusted I can go back to the old one if I want to.

(((((hugs)))) to you and Charlie! don't forget to email me your name and address please! xoxoxo OMG my captcha is "chump" what's up with THAT???? Maybe I am a chump for trying the new interface! lol

Look at those chips. Since I can't bake anything worth eating, I can't help you.

Stretchy Charlie!

I'm ignoring Blogger too. Yahoo make me accept their new page, and I had to send them hate e-mail because I couldn't figure out how to stop Messenger.

I used the updated blogger for a little while and went back to the old way because it's a thousand times better. Sigh.

Your banana bread looks seriously awesome. Yum.

Hart Johnson said...

yeah... I'm no help at all on baking projects. But I can assure you Charlie has the bed-stretch down... so there's that... at least you have a competent cat.

Summer Ross said...

looks more like Charlie is helping you mess up the blankets. LOL

Fuzzy Tales said...

Your banana bread still looks yummy. I'd eat the bottom first. Ha.

Charlie has been doing a great job helping you make the bed--well done. That much work deserves a nap!

Re: Blogger--yes, I had been using Blogger in Draft and they changed their interface, which I hated so much I went back to the old version. So I'm not inclined to try out their new version until I'm forced to. But you can give it a try, you might like it better. You can always switch back to the old look if you don't like the revamped version.

Today my boss bought me a rum and raisin cake that was quite possibly baked by the Gods!

Interesting almost marbeling effect on your cake. I've eaten so much cake this week it gave me a sleepless night last night.

I like how Charlie smooths out the sheets! :O)

Marg said...

Goodness, that bread looks so yummy. Who cares where the chocolate chips are.
I don't know anything about the Bad Blogger deal but I sure would leave it alone. Doesn't sound good to us.

Simon Kewin said...

Just eat the bottom half. End of problem ...

Ellie Garratt said...

Yum. Yum. That cake looks scrummy! Can't wait to see the Cobb.

Top or Bottom... it does not matter. As long as there's chocolate chips in the cake- it is all good anyway :)

We try not to try out Mr Blogger's suggestions - they always seem to lead to other things - mum likes the easy life!
Charlie - we missed your handsome face.

Mom saw that link on the top of her dashboard and is very hesitant to click it as well.

Oh, and our grandma told her that if you reserve a little flour and shake the chocolate chips in it, they don't sink as much.

MEOWZA.....our mama is trying to crawl thru the monitor to get to your chocolate chip banana bread and to the handsome Charlie....not necessarily in that order. She says she doesn't care if all the choc chips are at the bottom!!!!!!!

Our mama was brave and clicked on the "try the updated Blogger interface" and is having no problems with it....all it did was bring up the blogger reader in a different form....which our mama likes better than the old reader.

Love to the two of you.

Hey, just turn that thing over and the chocolate chips will be on top!

I think that's where all my trouble began at my old blog. Bad Blogger! Now go stand in the corner.

Rene said...

LOL, that is interesting. I've never seen chips sink to the bottom like that. Hope it still tasted good!

Angela Ackerman said...

Were they big chocolate chips, or little ones? Sometimes the big ones sink, especially of the loaf is a bit on the runny side. Still looks delish, tho! :)

Your chocolate chip banana loaf looks good. And the COB looks yummy! I'm such a sucker for bread :)
Charlie looks very comfy there!

I love banana and walnut loaf. It's a good way to use up those sneaky turning bananas.

Angel Ginger Jasper said...

Mum is resiting it as well cause there are enough problems with blogger lol. That cake still looks yummy. Mum says coat chocolate in flour to stop it sinking.. Hugs GJ xx

Hi Jennifer,
I've got an answer to your question about submission for the Montreal newspaper, The Write Place. The publisher says you can submit your stories but there's always preference to local writers ;)
In my opinion, you should submit. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. ;)

Margo Berendsen said...

My chocolate chips always sink too!!! I think I tried adding them once midway through the baking process, and then they just stayed on top :( Let me know if you figure it out!

Misha Gerrick said...

Lol the last time I made normal banana bread, the banana separated from the dough. :-D

That Try blogger update keeps popping up on me too. I haven't dared touch it for fear of what will happen.

Hope you had a great Bank Holiday Weekend. Your chocolate banana loaf looks delicious and isn't Charlie the most wonderful fella to help make the bed!!!!!

Tucker The Crestie said...

Well, I bet the bread is yummy - as long as you can TASTE the chocolate chips, that's all that really matters!

Golden Eagle said...

It looks tasty! :)

Thanks for the recipe link.

I think I'm already using Blogger's new interface--I use Blogger-in-Draft all the time, and it changed a couple of months ago to a different layout. It's fast and pretty easy to use, actually. :)

Hi Old Kitty! :) I've come from KarenG's BBQ! Had to come visit your blog and say hello! This spring I was adopted by a litter of kittens. ha. The mom raised them on our back porch and left after they were weaned. They are four sweet little things and I have enjoyed the experience so much. Great to meet you here! I'll be back to visit again!

Yummy cake! I always put walnuts in my banana bread and never thought to add chocolate chips --I'll have to try that next time!

I will not update my blogger unless I have no choice --I am always worried about messing it up and losing it!
