Bloggie friends! Look what I discovered yesterday:
1) This is Wool Week! It’s a week to encourage lots of woolly ideas like knitting and hugging sheep! Of course there is a serious side to all this wooling about - apparently sheep population is declining and the wool industry is going through a very woolly phase at the moment from the rise of the use of synthetic fibres. Crikey!
2) The ever so fragrant and beautiful Doris Day’s new album in 25 years was released yesterday! Yes, The Doris Day! She with the voice like “syrup dribbling over corn” – someone else on the telly (I can’t remember who) said that, hence the quotation marks.
My Christmas wish list has begun!
3) It truly is only 110 days to Christmas.
Charlie says: I want new blankie.
Thank you all so much for your kind words about my stinky poo poem yesterday!! You are all shiny beautiful stars!

Doris Day!? Really? Wow. I'll have to look out for it.
I love sheep. I wish I could hug a few today.
Your poem was great. And does Charlie want a wool blanket?
MOL, you're already getting prepared for Christmas??? This has to be the earliest post efur!
Christmas CANNOT be that close! I haven't done ANY shopping yet!
Aaaaww Charlie. He can have any blanket he wants.
The only thing I can ever think of when I hear "wool" is how much it itches. Heh.
Doris Day recorded some lovely songs. Hope you and Charlie get your Christmas wishes!
If I see any sheep this morning, I'll hug one for you.
Oh goodness I got the impression that the wool trade had never been better here in Ol Blighty!
I love Doris Day too. Charlie looks sweet.
Borage came in yesterday from outside to tell me a very long story about how he was caught in a heavy rain shower and that he was all wet. It was the funniest thing. I had to dry him off and he was happy then, but he wouldn’t stop meowing about it until I did!
Hi Old Kitty - I haven't been here for ages .. apologies - though I would choose wool week - unfortunately totally allergic to it - heaven knows what I would have done if I'd lived years ago.
Charlie .. he could use his blanket .. but perhaps a new one for Christmas - red one?
Cheers and have a good Autumn .. Hilary
Wool week? Who wou'd have thunk it? Do you knit??? Maybe you could knit a wool blankie for Charlie???
take care!
And happy early x-mas! LOL
Well, you look so comfy!! How are you doing these days?
Thanks for reminding us that it's only 110 days to Christmas - we'll write our list of "wants" today so mum has time to find all our wish list items!! We hope you get your new blankie Charlie.
We didn't know there was a wool week - mum says she would love to wear wool if it didn't bring her out in itchy blotches!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
love doris days voice, her and rock hudson made a great team, as for the sheep...I'll do what I can:)!
Go for a real wool blankie, Charlie, none of this synthetic stuff. :-)
I do have a knitting project on the go right now, actually. Must get back to it soon!
Happy Monday!
There's something about living on a sheep farm that seems so rustic and gratifying. I'm sure it's not as glamorous as the movies and historical romance novels make it out to be...how did I miss the stinky poo poem?
Christmas! Yikes, I'm still not ready for thanksgiving or Halloween!
I'd best see why my Christmas Tree isn't up yet!
Charlie, you deserve a new wool blankie for Christmas.
ahh... are we already thinking of Christmas? Wow. I guess we are. It's beginning to feel a little like Christmas around here. 68 degrees today. Brrr~ :D
wow...can't believe Christmas is that close! ha.
I'd love to hug a sheep!
What's happening to our beloved sheep?! And only 110 days until Christmas. Yikes.
Meowza!!!!!! We can't believe Christmas is that near!!!!!!!!
Still much too hot here to even think of anything made of wool!!!!!!!
Another fine picture of you, handsome Charlie.
xxxxxxxx
Only 110 days to Christmas? That means it's only 109 days till I panic big style...
I hope Charlie has been very, very good. :)
I won't shave today to help promote wool week.
Noooo! *huggles sheep* Sad that the population is dropping! I like sheep. (I also like goats, but they aren't so wooly... and I love llamas, who ARE wooly)
Thanks for the info on Wool Week! :)
Wow. Christmas is only 110 days away? I'm not sure if that feels like a long time or a short one . . . LOL.
We love the poem about Charlie's tail. Oh so true. So it is woolly week. Might be kind of hard to hug a sheep. I used to knit but don't have the patience to do it now. Have yourselves a great day. Hugs to Charlie
Is that really Charlie? He looks dressed up like a cute little woolly lamb for wool week.
Only just read it... sorry :-) Charlie your tail looks great to me, it reminds me of another that graces my floor bring in every thing unimaginable. Slugs are the best, why they hang on there with grim determination I haven't a clue... You NEED A LARGE CATNIP MOUSE from Mr Christmas too :-) x x x
You are a font of fascinating facts, Kitty! I never leave here without a smile! :-)
I love wool sweaters, socks scarves and blankets...there is nothing warmer to wear on a cold day.
I must also make my Christmas list! I think I'll ask for a wool item, and I bet Charlie wants one too! ;)
Maybe Santa will bring you a nice wool blankie. I love your tail and poem!
Charlie: I love that you are working on your Christmas list too!
