Bloggie friends!
There is something very wrong with this advert and it’s annoying me! LOL!
I wonder if you can spot it? You don’t need sound for it – just scroll to about 20 seconds in!
If you can’t play it, the scene is basically this. A woman feels peckish and searches for chocolate. She finds one, takes the wrapper off and pops a chunk in her mouth.
The problem?
SHE DOES NOT CHEW. She pops a bit of chocolate in her mouth AND DOES NOT CHEW.
Now I know as writers of stories, authors are able to create make-believe worlds, characters and situations – but I truly think as story writers, authors should also make their stories a tiny bit believable too.
Now I also know this is an advert so realism is not to be expected but surely (don’t call me Shirley! LOL!) if someone puts solid food in their mouths, they ought to chew the darned thing? LOL!
Especially when it’s chocolate.
Charlie says: After I eat, I snooze
Nearly the weekend, bloggie friends!

Do you think she was sooooo hot that it immediately evaporated?
Cheers and happy weekend to you and Charlie.
Now I'm craving chocolate! Love your sense of humor. I've seen your name on so many blogs and have been meaning to come visit your blog, but I'm new at blogging and am taking it slow, trying to get to know a few at a time so I can keep up and keep everyone straight! You have a fun blog.
And I hope those mobs die down soon. Just watching it on TV is scary. I can't imagine having it happen so close to home.
Maybe it's a whole new take on 'melt in your mouth.'
Chocolate needs to be savored!
Hello handsome Charlie.

They never chew! Ever! I think it's because the models spit it out as soon as the director says, "and...cut!"

Shirley you jest :)
She pulled off a pretty big chunk. They probably had to edit out her chipmunk cheeks and chocolate syrup drooling down her chin. Then they cut back to the big smile, sans chocolate in her teeth.
We're grittier when we write.
I just watched Rocky last night. It was so nice not to see it all Hollywooded up (my new word). The streets were dirty. The apartments had ugly furniture full of hole and stains. It wasn't glamorized or some version of "poor". I think he found the real stuff.
I'm not sure, perhaps she savouring it. All I know is, I feel like chocolate now.
i like story that is more realistic to our life :)
but mostly, i like CHARLIEEEEE!!!
p/s: Charlie is most likely like my first very2 old feline friend!!! she was with me starting from my primary years. i called her TOMPOK :) she had a bob tail and a black spot on her head. just like wearing a berret!! i do misse her everyday
maybe it was the melt in your mouth kind...?
Charlie's smart.
Unless it was chocolate syrup, chewing would be involved!
I guess after the girl eat chocolate without chew, she barfs !!..heh..heh..heh
I like to let it melt... yummy....
FUNNY!! Made my evening!! Thanks!
Uh, yeah, girlfriend's got issues. Did she just swallow it whole? Unbelievable!
I found you through Alex. Anyone who (1) is connected with Alex and (2) posts about chocolate is worthy of following. And so I shall.
Cheers!

And she only tkaes a small piece! I would ahve popped that whole bar in my mouth..lol!
Sorry, have to disagree, I always just let it melt slowly on my tongue:-)
much love
martine
mmm not necessarily. I usually suck my chocolate to savour it more!
Charlie is too cute. She doesn't chew because she'd get it all over her teeth and that's just not sexy. It's like in romance when the couple has sex at a ball and doesn't find the need to get cleaned up. Bad analogy? :)
(a) It's not real chocolate
(b) She's anorexic or bulimic and wouldn't eat it anyway
(c) She's letting it melt slowly in her mouth to savour it (not)
Ha!
It's like food scenes in movies...No one really eats, but some actors really can make it appear that they are! :-P
Asyour eyes are closed Charlie we take it that you have had dinner and are on to your post meal nap.
Mum always eats her chocolate bars in one session cos she says she would hate them to go stale!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
The thing that always makes me cringe with this ad is that the woman is so skinny, now we all know skinny's aren't the real chocolate eaters, or suckers in this case.
Charlie, don't blame you young lad, hey your lookin good. :-) x x x
Our mama is LOL........but of course, that skinny model is not gonna chew....she might gain an ounce or two!!!!!!!!
When will the advertising world get real about what people really look like and do???? If they had an average person on that comercial, she would have eaten the chocolate for sure, and "real" people would have related to the commercial!!!!! *mama's putting away her soapbox now*
Us kitties and our mama love you, handsome Charlie, and your fantastic mum. xxxxxxxx
You are so right. She doesn't chew. That is weird. That would drive me nuts too. Have to turn that one off. Charlie, you are the smart one, after chewing, take a nap. Take care.
Well yes, chew your food, right Charlie?!?!?!
Hope she doesn't choke!
mmm... I want some chocolate now, too. mmm... :D
I'll let the chocolate melt in my mouth--for about a half-second. Then I have to gobble, too! But they cut the commercial off before that part.
LOL! <3
But really good chocoloate should sort of melt in your mouth, shouldn't it? I could swear my most enjoyable chocogasms involve sucking rather than chewing... erm.
I think they stopped the advert just when she popped it in her mouth - no time to chew. Hugs to Charlie!
I really hope my comments are going to your blog. They always disappear. :)
I didn't notice until you pointed it out.
We wonder, sometimes, about the people that dream up and produce the modern day commercials too. NOT reality at its best for sure.
Love your blog, and, of course, you little friend.
I'll be back.
Come see us sometime.
That is a bit disturbing . . . and her expression is too eerily satisfied afterwards. LOL.
I also wondered why she'd put an empty chocolate wrapper back in the fridge.
We should be writing these commercials.
That People eats FUNNY!
I see dogs eat like this, swallow something whole and then...they smile just like this People does.
But chocolate is bad for dogs.
Paws 'n Claws,
Rupert
I don't she's real, so the chocolate simply ceased to exist one it entered her mouth. I think we might need to call in Mulder and Scully!
