All Aboard!

Welcome bloggie friends to gorgeous Captain Ellie's Star Trek blogfest!

Here are my five most favouritist things about all things Star Trek - and mainly from the 1960's original series.

1) Tribbles – what's not to like? They purr, are furry and make most humanoids smile!

Giant Tribble!

2) Lt Uhura’s sexy red uniform – hubba, hubba!

3) Dilithium Crystals – the words just roll off my tongue like liquid chocolate!

funny pictures - If Animals Played Star Trek #21

4) Seatbelts. Or Lack Of. Y'all must have seen the episodes where the crew on deck are attacked and they get flung about and out of their seats for lack of anything to strap them into their seats.

5) “Boldly going forward cos we can’t find reverse” lyrics from The Firm’s homage to the series and their classic catchphrases.

The end! Charlie and I consider ourselves confined to quarters for the rest of the journey!
:-)

Ah yes, and it took a Canadian, William Shatner aka Captain Kirk, to sort out the universe, eh :)

I loved listening to that song on the old Dr. Demento show on Sunday nights. Did you get Dr. Demento on your side of the Pond? I'm going to link back to this on my site. A true classic!

bwahaha! I never thought about the no seatbelt thing! lol. My dad was a total trekkie so I grew up with the old episodes and the new ones. Probably the only show I didn't complain about watching as a kid.

omg! My trekkie husband would be SO into this fest... I've always been aware of ST, but never a huge fan. I like calling it Star Track b/c it irritates hubs. Also Princess Aurora instead of Lt. Uhura... But the BEST by far is the disco dancing they do when the ship hits turbulence.

Priceless... :D <3

Tribbles! I'd almost forgotten about them.

My favourite was spotting someone new on an away mission. You knew they'd die - but the fun was in guessing how.

Do you remember that Dr. McCoy discovered the tribbles were born pregnant? As David Gerrold, the writer, said, that saved them from having the tribbles doing a certain activity all over Kirk's ship.
