Witty Repartee

My manager: Where’s your report, it’s late.

Me: Eh?

Manager: The deadline was 1st May.

Me: Oh - you meant this year?

:-)

Not to worry bloggie friends, I handed said report and all is well.

It's just that I laughed so much at my witty riposte and she didn’t so I thought I’d share this here instead.

And it is Monday after all!

Charlie says: I listen for the sound of my treat box shaking and food pouch opening.

We hope you are all having a great start to the week!

Some people have no sense of humour!

My boss is the one with the twisted sense of humour, so he's appreciate your remark. LOL. He had one of my co-workers (and me!) totally convinced that an upcoming conference gala was formal. Poor S (co-worker), who was upset enough about having to attend the conference, was then even more so at hearing "formal." Then my boss let me in on the joke and I gave him a hard time, kept pestering him to tell her the truth, because she was stressing about it so much. So I'm the killjoy in this office, apparently. LOL.

We can see that Charlie is concentrating on his food and treats very hard - we hope you can feel his vibes and feed the poor starving boy.
Mum is still laughing at your report story and says managers have no sense of humour!

It's a lot more funny when I don't need the report. My husband doesn't seem amused when I pull the same repartee with him.

Lydia Kang said...

That was a funny repartee! Too bad the humor was lost on your boss...

Whew! I was getting a bit worried for you there for a second or too! Glad all is well.

Charlie is looking the very essence of one cool cat.

Being very specific as a manager is important. You helped her realize that.

Shouldn't you get some sort of raise for that? Or at least a treat box?

Marg said...

Oh Charlie, your mother is a little bit of a smarty pants. That was funny though. Charlie, you keep up that good work and keep listening. You just never know what is going to be next.

I love this picture of Charlie too.

We're glad you finished the report. Managers don't always see the humor in these things, LOL.
