The Loo Syndrome

Bloggie friends!!

I was absent yesterday as I had a plumbing emergency!

But not to worry – I found what I needed to do via some amazing video clips on the internet, showing me how to tackle the “non-flushing loo syndrome” Ahem!

Ya know – living alone (with Charlie of course!) and being a gazillion miles away from family and friends, the internet has been such a godsend helping me keep my sanity and allowing me to live as independently as possible.

I mean of course nothing beats human one on one contact, but I really don’t think I’d have survived these past 3 and a half years alone without the resource and community that is in virtual land and blogworld!

Charlie says: Please be so kind as to open the door so I may greet the sun.

Enjoy your day, bloggie friends!

Know exactly how your mom feel, Charlie. Our human's the same with part of the family living on the other side of the globe.
Thank God for internet and blogger friends.

He looks so patient! I understand what you mean about being alone- naturally I live in a city but I spend so much time in my tiny apartment during the summer- without kids, pets, or manly man just doing homework- its nice to come and interact with others.

Congratulations on fixing your toilet! It's often intimidating for women to do things like that, even if they're simple, because we step outside our comfort zones if we haven't grown up accustomed to tackling repairs. :-)

Well done!

Of course, you could have used Charlie's litter box. Ha.

Was it the ballcock? I changed my workshop ballcock myself, which was considerably easier than finding a plumber, and a LOT cheaper.

Does Charlie greet the rain too?

Oh, no. And oh, yay for internet video and blogging friends. Now put your feet up and enjoy the Sun!

I'm glad you got your plumbing emergency figured out! Isn't the internet amazing? I really wonder what authors used to do before they could just Google any topic they wanted and find a wealth of information right there.

Charlie if we were nearer we would rush and open the door for you.
Jenn if we ever need an emergency plumber we'll give you a call for step by step instructions LOL! Perhaps you could consider a career change?

Our mama finds answers to so many things on the internet, also.

And today we are thankful for the internet, otherwise we would never have had the joy of knowing you and the handsome Charlie.....we send our love to both of you.

Isn't that the truth? I so depend so much on the internet and I depend on my blog friends to keep me sane as well! Isn't it a great community?
I am glad all your difficulties have been worked out and I know you and Charlie will take good care of each other...

Amazing what you can learn on the internet, isn't it? Bet you're now flushed with success.

I suspect Charlie would have had something to say about anyone else using the litter box.

Isn't it amazing what you can learn on YouTube? It's my greatest teacher.
That is the sweetest picture of Charlie. He's so photogenic. Should be a model for some cat food. Move over ..... that big orange cat who hogged the spotlight for so long. It's Charlies turn.

I agree -- the Internet is wonderful in situations like this! Almost everything DIY project can be found on it!

Are you a native Australian, Old Kitty? I loved visiitng AU but the plane (rides) to get there were soooooo looooong!

Yay for you! The internet has helped with the tricky dilemma too, but I haven't braved a loo repair!

Can see Charlie performing Sun Salutes :-)

LOL! I love that pic. Charlie's face says it all. I miss having a cat so much, so I live vicariously thru your pics. Hubby is allergic so I had to get rid of one or the other... and since my cat's fathering abilities left something to be desired, to my chagrin I had to say farewell to the cat. :(
Bravo for fixing your own toilet! Girl power!

Sorry about your loo issues. I wish we used that word here.

I'm sorry you're far from family and friends. At least you can make the most of it from the Internet. Imagine living in the days of letters?

Charlie, at least it's not raining there like it is here!

I, too, have found helpful information and products through the Internet! Long live this world within the world! And long live Old Kitty and Charlie!!!

I'm so glad you're savoring my book. I'm eager to know how you feel at the end. I was glancing at it and estimated what I think you might, too--I won't give it away!!!

Much love from me and Jen!!!!!

Charlie you are too cute for words. I am very impressed with your plumbing skills. It does stink when an emergency hits and it is just you.

You're right. The internet and the people on it are a great resource - available 24/7 and always helpful. You'll go a long way to find a plumber like that....

All the best, Boonie

I like the word loo sound so much more sophisticated than crapper or even commode or toilet.

Yes, what did we do before 'Google'...it has helped me pick the right sandpaper, learn how to stain my deck and find answers to cat health questions, too. Hope you got some sun on your furs eventually!

And the writerly community, of course ; )

Thanks for stopping by my blog! My blogfest entry is up now, btw. You can still join if you want to....
