Habitual habits

Bloggie friends!

One of the most annoying habits I did as a child was to eat the topping off cupcakes then leave the rest of the cake. I also used to just eat all the creamy filling of say, an oreo biscuit, but not the biscuits themselves.

I’d like to think that I’ve grown out of doing such bad things but yesterday, I did exactly one of these.

I bit off the creamy topping off a chocolate cupcake and left the rest of the cake in the packet. I completely forgot that I was at work and only remembered when a scream of “Who the bloody hell left a half eaten cupcake in the pack?” emanated from the tea room half an hour later.

I just hope work people don’t read this blog!

Charlie says: I have no shame either.

Roll on the weekend!

Thanks for coming to say Hi to me when Tucker couldn't. I have come to say Hi back. You really don't have any shame, MOL! That's quite a pose.

We liked your cupcake story! Sounds like something my Human would do ;-)

Looks like Charlie is getting fluffier by day!!!! :)

Now if only you were a cat, you'd have no shame :-)

You made me laugh out loud, Jennifer! I love to eat the frosting off the top of cupcakes too. (I also like to bite chocolates in half to see what kind they are...)

I did the same thing as a child, but now I have no problem scarfing down the whole thing....lol

Can't blame Charlie. It's summer. It's hot and this is the best way to cool a furry tummy. :)

Lovely, it is so nice to eat the good bits only. I sometimes feel like my son, he always asks why do we eat dinner, can we not just eat dessert first.

Priceless, Old Kitty ;-0
Me, I wouldn't have screamed at the half eaten cake, just sneaked off with it (yep, diet still in progress...)
Thanks for a good chuckle this grey and rainy day!

I love After Eight mints and have that awful habit of leaving the empty sleeves in the box!

Yay...halfway through the week!

Hahaha! I think that's great, too funny. I used to eat the Oreo biscuits, didn't like the filling! :-P

Love Charlie's splayed-out pose...LOL.

LoL.... How funny.

When I was younger (I still do this today) I save the best for last.

I would eat the cake part and save all the frosting for last. The problem is, sometimes I get full and can't enjoy the good part.... so... your way is better.

We won't breathe a word about your cup cake incident!! You made mum giggle when you didn't own up - but she says she wouldn't have either!! Charlie you do have a beautiful white tummy - we bet there's a queue of lady cats at your door right now - it's a shame you don't live closer so we could come for a closer look too!

that is hilarious! lol. I guess a little sugar and lard in just the frosting is better than eating the whole thing.

Golden Eagle said...

Oh dear.

I sometimes do that with food; I'll only eat the certain part that I like the best. LOL.

Tracy said...

That is hilarious because I do that with muffins...I eat the top off because I like the crunchy and of course leave the rest...I would have loved to see the look on your face whe you heard that comment! how funny!

Marg said...

I think that is hysterical. Good for you. Gave everyone something to think about. I love the frosting too.
Charlie, really. Cover your privates. Take care.

Does he do this after he gives himself a bath? Just to say, "Hey, I'm a cat. I can do whatever I want. Because I'm a cat. That's why."

Thanks for stopping by this morning. Charlie--I love your hair. Who does it?

I can relate only too well! I've been cupcake-free all month, but I did have an Oreo recently & I only ate 1 side & the center. By the way, this is the newest Oreo filling: Berry Burst Ice Cream!

Berry Burst Ice Cream filled Oreos!

The frosting is the best part - Mom did the same thing as a kid!

Ha! Old Kitty, this is priceless! I used to do the same thing. I just *love* frosting! The rest of the cake... meh!

Hi!!
I can just imagine the horror of the half eaten cupcake - giggle!
I used to do that too, those little fairy cakes with the hundreds and thousands, I'd scrape the iced topping off with my teeth and leave the rest, perhaps I thought someone else might want the soggy remains. But really, who would?
Love Charlie's gentlemanly pose xx

Oh Charlie, with that beautimous belly, you don't have to have shame!
Life is too short to eat the parts you don't like. I say "Good for you!"

Anonymous said...

Oh, shame on you!

Jen says, "Thanks. Hugs back from Jen, and take care of yourself!!!"

So you're on page 13. Ooooh. I get a shiver. Writing a memoir is so--I don't know--spooky. Your life's out there in intimate detail.

Oh, I'm so excited to get your reaction to the WHOLE THING!!!!

Len Lambert said...

LOL! I used to do this as well! Funny and sweet. Thanks for sharing this with us, Old Kitty! :)

Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy.

ROFL! That is priceless! I used to sniff my bread at uni to check it wasn't starting to go mouldy (before the mould spots appeared) and only realised my rather bizarre gehaviour when I did it infront of my dinner guest. :O)

Haaa haaa! Frosting is the best part!

Deborah said...

I do the exact same thing. I eat the top of the donuts and leave the rest. Everyone always comments on that too!
