It’s happening again!
Last year my course tutor kept referring to me as “Benita”.
This year, my lovely, elderly and very chatty neighbour keeps calling me “Belinda”.
Which begs the question: What is it about me and this near cloned B name?!?! Answers on a postcard please!
Charlie says: I dream of a world without flashy things and pawparazzi.
As for being called Belinda, I don't mind really. She's such a lovely woman and maybe I remind her of a Belinda she used to know. I'm sure there's a story in all this that I can tweak out and create!

Ahhh, reminds me of the time I taught at a school where I obviously was Tracy, another teacher was Stacey and then a third was Tracy Stacy...so whenever they'd call on the intercom for one of us we always questioned who they were talking about...at least Charlie can't call you by the wrong name :)
I knew a woman who always called me Ashley, for some reason. Obviously, Summer and Ashley couldn't sound much more different. However, she said that I looked like an Ashley that she had once known...
omg--LOL!!! I'm snorting b/c I'm the worst about calling people by the wrong names. I once called my male protag the wrong name in my MS! A reader-friend caught it for me.

With all this Benita-Belinda, I just realized... what IS your name, dahling? I've always simply said Kitty... :D <3

That's funny. Sometimes you meet someone who reminds you of an old friend or co-worker and it's hard to get their name out of your mind. At least it's not a name you hate.

I've had a few people persistently call me something else, and I always believed that it was a comfort thing with them, that my name reminded them of someone else.

Just correct them with a different name each time until they give up.
People have called me Kylie in the past (despite my age!). Atleast this starts with the same letter as my own - unlike your B names! Still, as Will (or was it Wilf?) said, whats in a name... As long as your neighbour's nice - and it seems she is :-)

I think going with Belinda sounds pretty good... always good to be flexible.

I really do like that name Belinda. Usually if people get my name wrong, they go with Margaret, which I DO NOT like. Not for me, at any rate! But yeah, it's good story material! I try to think that about all the unfortunate things and faux pas in life!
