Hobnobbing!

Bloggie friends!!

I did one exciting thing last week! I went to see The Hobbit in glorious 3D and loved, loved, LOVED it!!

I say ignore all the garbage about the technicalities of how it was filmed or what frame was used or the length of the film blah blah blah.

I say go to the cinema where this is showing, put your most unflattering 3D glasses on, bring an extra cushion and just revel in the fantasy, magic and the cutest littlest hedgehog ever to act on screen!

Better than Lord of the Rings? Ya betcha!

Charlie and Gumtree say: We are NOT impressed with today's blog post!

Have a great week everyone!

Glad you enjoyed it, Kitty! I did as well. It was rich, beautiful, and fun.

Manzanita said...

Thanks for the review. I'm in the mood for something cute and ugly glasses.
If so, I suppose Charlie and Gumtree are writing their own post. :)

Mark said...

My do they ever look unimpressed. I guess they're upset that you talked a lot about Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit and barely mentioned them.

klahanie said...

Aha, well I just visualised a cat in the cinema wearing 3D glasses!

My human tells me that Tolkien based his characters on some of the locals of this town we live in. We are not surprised by that!

Penny the Jack Russell dog and next 'Paw Minister' of Britain!

I haven't seen it yet but I hope to do so soon. Hugs to you and your kitties, Miss Jenn!

Our Mommy loves to hear movie reviews, and thought it was an excellent post. We even enjoyed the gratuitous kitteh pic! Happy Monday!

Better than Lords of the Ring? Wow! But cats are hard if not possible to impress!

DWei said...

I also really enjoyed the Hobbit but that might be because I really like Martin Freeman.

Helena said...

Well, I wasn't sure I was going to see The Hobbit but you've convinced me, and I'm sure I'll have fun. And my own kitty is never impressed with anything I do, so she would get along great with Charlie and Gumtree.

Judging from your faces, The Hobbit probably didn't have kitties!

Patsy said...

You liked it then, Kitty? ;-)

joanne fox said...

Gosh - those cats appear to be sitting awfully close together and not squabbling! Guess there has been great progress in feline relations over there.

Fuzzy Tales said...

Well, *I'm* impressed that Charlie and Gumtree are SO close together. Charlie must secretly like him. LOL.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Tamago said...

My husband wants to see that movie! I was not big fan of Lord of the Rings so hesitant to go... But it was better? Maybe I should go see! Charlie and Gumtree are very cute together :-)

Jemi Fraser said...

Those cats look completely in charge!! :)

I haven't seen the Hobbit yet -still talking the hubby into it :) I haven't seen any of the 'new' 3D shows yets - my eyes are a little wonky & I couldn't see the old 3D - not sure about the newer stuff :)

Natalie Aguirre said...

So awesome, Kitty, that you got to see it. I'm probably the only one who hasn't yet, though I really want to.

Simon Kewin said...

It only had 2 Ds when I saw it but it was fantastic so I might go and see it again with the extra D if I can!

Teresa Ashby said...

Glad you loved the Hobbit :-)

Charlie and Gumtree are such pretty kitties :-) x

Fenris and Family said...

Mommy wants to go see this so bad, but the guy things are uninterested.

When it comes out on DVD the Mom will probably get it so we can all enjoy it from the comfort of our living room half chair.

We all wants to sit in it with Mommy. So it's a good thing she got a BIG chair.

Rene said...

We aren't into the Hobbit series of movies, but we know lots of people are! And what a lovely photo of the boys!

Claudia Zurc said...

OMG! Taking a hiatus from blogging is not fun because catching up is hard to do. Is Gumtree a new addition to the family? He's so adorable. Glad you enjoyed the movie. Haven't seen it or any movies for that matter. :(
See you soon!

Janet Johnson said...

I have not yet seen it, but it's on my list. But you're making me antsy! I'd better make time. :)

Have a great day!

Hart Johnson said...

What good helpers you have. I can't watch anything in 3D--those nutty glasses go poorly with my regular ones. The Hobbit was great though!

Words A Day said...

Agreed! I went with my young sons, they loved it, so did I:)

Tracy Jo said...

I just love the kitties! Thanks for the recommendation of The Hobbit. Wasn't going to go but just might now. :-) Happy Monday!

Lydia Kang said...

I've heard so much criticism of this, but you're right. I should lay it aside and just have fun with it.

Michael Di Gesu said...

Love the pic and comment... LOL.

I haven't seen the HOBBIT yet... I hope to get to it this week. It's been frigidly cold in Chicago, so when the temps rise I will be at the theatre.

Thanks for the review.

They may not be impressed with today's blog post, but they are sure sitting in front of your web page. Looking pretty cute there, too.

Luna said...

Ooh...now I really have to go see it! Gotta love wearing those sill glasses, but so worth it.

Hope you have a fabulous week!

Just Mags said...

We kitties don't care about movies. Mumsy and Popsy have not been out to see a movie in seems like maybe a hundred years. They watches all the movies at home. Hugs and nose kisses

Oooh, I want to see!! I bet 3D was AWESOME!

Esme said...

Have you ever read the book? I am glad you enjoyed the movie.

Couldn't agree more! It's bloody brilliant!

mshatch said...

Look at those good kitties sharing the desk! Admittedly, Charlie doesn't look overly impressed, but no fighting, no hissing, just feline civility :)

ANGEL ABBYGRACE said...

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Next time you need to take Charlie and Gumtree with you! :)

Carolyn Abiad said...

We went during the holiday break. I'm not familiar with all the cinematics, but I enjoyed the regular, no frills version. No imax, no 3D. Pure Hobbit. :)

And...hello, Gumtree! How nice to meet you. *waves to Charlie too*

Stina said...

My 10 year old saw it and loved it. I didn't think he would last though the movie since it finished after 10 pm. I haven't seen it yet. Oh well.

Anonymous said...

I hope to see the film.

Charlie and Gumtree probably wanted to see it, too. They're only playing it cool.

William Kendall said...

I loved it! Went back to see it again.

Charlie and Gumtree just don't find dwarves all that impressive.

Katie Isabella said...

Oh what a wonderful treat! How fortunate you were. Our family has yet to see it but I think my human brother will be going. Xxxoo

Rick Watson said...

I really want to see that. I've heard good things about it from people I trust.
Thanks Kitty.

Lynda R Young as Elle Cardy said...

I still haven't dragged myself to the cimema to see it. I find it really hard not to pull movies apart because of my 3D animation background... but that's part of the fun of seeing them! ;)

The Chair Speaks said...

Did you watch that show too, Charlie, Gumtree?

Theresa Milstein said...

Everyone seems to be raving about the movie. You're the first to recommend additional cushioning.

Now you have two cats by that computer? I'm impressed you could write the blog post.

I thought you'd like to see this. It's brilliant. If you can't see US version, then look up Dog Friend vs. Cat Friend.

Charlie and Gumtree are SO CUTE! :D I have not seen the Hobbit, but I know I will. Hubs is a HUGE Tolkien fan. I'm not such a huge orc fan, so I'm not looking forward to that. :P

Hope you're having a lovely week~ <3

Thanks for the review Kitty and don't your charlie and gumtree look adorable?

Deniz Bevan said...

You know what's funny? I saw it in the 48fps 3D version and I really didn't see what the difference was. Later I heard people saying it was more like watching a video game than a movie. I guess I can see that - I don't play video games so really wouldn't know. But the images were clear and sharp as anything!

Hi Old Kitty - I must get to see one 3D film .. to see what the fuss is about - so I will definitely check a film out - and I'd like to see the Hobbit again .. I did love the film ...

Gumtree and Charlie - I'm not surprised they're a bit upset and are hogging the computer .. or perhaps they're hobnobbing with that personal compute thing ...

I am so behind in movie going and even TV watching! I'll have a lot to catch up on in life--moving has been a big task. I'm finally able to take a breath..so good to catch up with you today!

I loved the book when I read it eons ago, while I couldn't get into the LoR books. I was expecting The Hobbit film to be more like the LoR film trilogy, so was surprised by the differences.
