Chaos Before Christmas

Bloggie friends!!

With a crash and a bang and a thud, thud, thud
I tumbles and stumbles and go judd, judd, judd
I scatter all things in my path with such glee!
I am silly and ditzy and my name is Gumtree!

Charlie says: I ignore everything.

This was a rare sunny moment last Saturday morning. Notice I don't have any Christmas decorations up yet. The Gumster is in full attack mode and everything is game but I'm hoping to have some up by this weekend!

Have a great week everyone!

Go Gumtree Go and Charlie you enjoy the show!

Cats + Christmas trees = FUN! But seriously find something sturdy. Gumtree sounds just like my Kadie and I would not want to put her near a Christmas Tree.

And a very Merry Christmas to all of you! *meow*

Cute poem.

My Barney loves playing swing ball with the baubles. Happy days.

mshatch said...

He looks like my bad black cat who is full of mischief and naughtiness. I am glad Charlie is able to ignore him :)

Cathy Olliffe-Webster said...

HA! There's mischief just waiting to happen! I hope you get your decorations up by this weekend... I think next weekend might be a little, er, late! (Or really early for next year!)

Why do I keep thinking that a Gumster in full attach mode and a Christmas tree will not make a very good combination?!!!

Natalie Aguirre said...

Good luck when you put up the decorations. Hopefully it'll go well.

Bad Poetry... :)

May you enjoy every moment of the chaos so it is a fun time..

Charlie, you are a very zen kitty!

Gumtree, you sure know how to have a great time, don't you? :)

Old Kitty, glad you got a little sunshine to enjoy. Hope you can get a few decorations up without the Gumster wreaking too much havoc. ;)

I love Gumtree's poem -- and Charlie is so mellow as always. I'm glad you had the sunshine, but now for a white Christmas to make all your decorations sparkle!

LOL! Gumtree seems like a sweetheart.

I love the Terry Pratchett quote.

LOL! So Gumtree is a clumsy klutz! Well, our human has decided not to put up any decorations for now. Purrs!

I love the way Charlie is looking at him! I bet when you do put your decs up, Gumtree will have huge fun :-) x

So cute. I had to hide things and draw my cats away from chewing ribbons and jumping into boxes this weekend as I finished wrapping gifts.

We once had a two children, a dog, a cat and four kittens - all convinced the Christmas tree was for their exclusive enjoyment.
Now there's just me and OH and I don't have to bother with decorations any more.
And I love it!!!

Fuzzy Tales said...

I suspect Gumtree is much like Nicki. LOL. He's certainly a gorgeous tabby boy, beautiful stripes. :-)

Happy holidays to you all and may kitty peace reign in your household!

Jemi Fraser said...

Good luck with those decorations - not sure Gumtree is going to let you have any up at all!! :)

Liza said...

Our kitty is old enough now that she mostly ignores Christmas...although she likes to curl up on the tree skirt under the tree. She's an indoor kitty and I like to think she's imagining herself in the great outdoors.

Stina said...

Love the poem, Gumtree. That's going to be rattling in my head all day. :D

Esme said...

Do not worry about not having any decorations-we are i the same boat-with just a few.

I am glad to see Charlie can avoid the ruckus.

Rene said...

Oh look at how big Gumtree is getting! I like how Charlie is up high, avoiding his antics perhaps?

Gumtree is so cute - we bet he is forever on the go. We hope Charlie is getting used to having a whirlwind around!

It's hard to put up decorations with a rambunctious kitty. You'll have to put them very high!

Charlie appears stately, as always.

Have a Happy Christmas and New year! xo

lol! I love Charlie's reaction, or lack there of hehehe.

A great week to you, too! And good luck with those Christmas decorations :)

Gumtree says he'll be happy to help!

We don't have any Christmas decorations up yet either. I'm waiting for my human to put up the tree so I can knock it down. Enjoy your week and may we think of those who find this time of the year particularly tough.

Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star! xx

Oh Gumtree you are quite the boy who loves to play aren't you? Such a sweet tabby!!! Charlie are you ready for Santa Paws to come? I bet you'll help your Mom with a tree.

Saku said...

When my cats were young, I used to tie my tree to the ceiling. I had three hooks in the ceiling (plant hooks) and I used those to anchor the tree. Didn't do much to save the ornaments but it kept the tree upright (mostly, lol)

And I invested in plastic ornaments, not glass.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!

Poor tree, and poor Christmas decorations!

Karen Jones Gowen said...

We finally got ours up. It was such a huge task yet now as I look around it doesn't seem like much has changed LOL. Merry Christmas, dear Kitty!

Thought I was at Patt Hatt's blog for a moment there with that rhyme. :P

Susan Fields said...

I love your poem! I was nervous about putting presents under the tree with the dog, but she's left them alone so far - whew!

Hart Johnson said...

*giggles* Oh, kitties and Christmas... Cali keeps burrowing under the tree skirt. We finally removed it until we have presents to put on it.

Cats can be so contrary!

Cherie Reich said...

Ah, the joy of having cats! We had to get a smaller tree to put on our entertainment center instead of the normal tree because our newest kitty won't leave things alone.

Happy Holidays!

We like your poem. Mumsy hasn't put up a tree for us either. We sure would like to slap some of those meeces around she hangs on it. Maybe you will have some decorations and maybe a tree soon. Hugs and nose kisses

Hi there Gumtree and Charlie. You two sure are looking good and just you wait Gumtree. There is a fun thing coming to your house in the shape of a tree with all sorts of toys on it. Have a great day.

Merry Christmas to ALL of you: Charlie, Gumtree, "Old Kitty," you are the greatest!! (See Jen waving. She also wishes all of you the very best holiday and awesome new year.)

Kittens DO make decorating hard. :o) We have a new puppy this Christmas and it seems like my favorite word these days is, "no".

Have a happy Christmas! <3

I bet Gumtree is going to have lots of fun with those Christmas decorations! Playful kitties are fun kitties.

I had a childhood cat named Charlie, also a tabby, and he was always up the tree. My gals like the lights, but aren't into climbing it. Thank goodness.

LynNerdKelley said...

I don't have any decorations up yet either, so don't feel bad! Alex is right about the tree. Keeping the 15-month-old away from the Christmas tree is a lot easier than keep a cat away. And with two cats, oh my! You better cement it in or tie it to the ceiling. But whatever you do, I hope you have the best Christmas and New Year ever!

Gumtree & Charlie - have a wonderful holiday buddies!

Why? Simply because Gumster is a cat and can et away with it my blaming someone else.

LOL, Peaches keeps trying to climb the tree, batting the ornaments around and chewing the bows. I cleared a spot out under the tree and she seems to be a little calmer now she can lounge under it.

Have a wonderful Christmas!
