Farewell Old Blogger, Old Pal!

Bloggie friends!!

I see Charlie through the window!

He stretches out with paws and tail a-kimbo!

Paws up who's been weeping over the new look blogger?! (Me! Me! LOL!)

If you have any problems etc please do register your constructive criticisms here and let’s hope Blogger designers will listen (well we can only try!).

Also this blog - The Real Blogger Status: what blogger won’t tell you is very helpful with updates and Blogger news.

Happy blogging!

Hey Old Kitty,
I absolutely hate the new blogger interface. I didn't want it and yet, without an option, there it is.
With that, I shall now blogger off....

I am determined to learn the new blogger formats, Jenn, as I like a challenge. I will certainly visit and keep on hand the links you've provided if I hit a snag along the way.

PS: Charlie looks like he is practicing yoga! :)

Yep we had the same thing this week. It is very similar but there are differences. For me the aggravating thing is that there are NO directions on how to use the new interface. YOU have to figure it out, c'mon. Doesn't it make sense to at least tell us in an email (it's not like they don't have our email address) when we are going to be switched and how to use the new controls.
*sigh*
Well Charlie we hope your Monday is better than ours.

When the new Blogger came out, I switched, then about 5 minutes later switched back to the old. LOL.

However, a couple of months ago I switched both my accounts over to the new Blogger and it wasn't as hard to get used as I had anticipated.

I hope you find it easy going too!

Oh, thank you! We got the new blogger back several months ago and still are not happy with it. That pic pleases us much more than silly old blogger!

Just as I was so used to the old blogger now have to re-learn all over again!

Hi to Charlie!

Oh I heard they went and new and improved again! Howdy Charlie!

mshatch said...

yeah not sure about this new blogger yet. I'm having some trouble with pictures. Ask me in a couple of weeks.

Charlie obviously could care less.

Melissa Ann Goodwin said...

Hello dear lady, my husband has had terrible troubles with blogger. I thought he might hurl his netbook across the room. Fortunately he hasn't done that, but I will advise him to register his complaints.

Natalie Aguirre said...

Thanks for sharing the link. I accidentally upgraded a few months ago. The biggest problem for me is getting multiple book covers to align properly when I'm doing a big giveaway. If you figure it out, let me know.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

I'll check out the real blogger status.
I started using the new interface last year, so fortunately I am used to it. But you aren't the only one having issues with the forced switch. And none of my scheduled posts are posting!! Before I go to bed tonight, I'll have to force Monday's post to go live a little early or risk waking up to no post.

Sharon K. Mayhew said...

I've tried to add a couple new blog friends to my blog roll. New blogger will let me add them, but change their blog titles to their real names....

Manzanita said...

I never do well with change... ggrrr
I had all my posts for A -Z ready to go with one click and I discovered blogger had put the new one on.
OMG.... I couldn't find my posts and I didn't know my way around and at first thought I had to quit. FINALLY, I found my way.

wildcatwoods said...

We don't like the new Blogger but found that you can go back to the old format by clicking on the little wheel symbol on the right. We are resisting change!

Unknown said...

Yes, it's really sad. I hope things improve soon.

Jay Paoloni said...

Hmm, honestly there was nothing wrong with blogger's old look. I was just fine with it. Hope its features are going to work a bit better with this one though.
Charlie's the luckiest one: he couldn't care less!!

I have had SUCH major tech problems with my blog. Right now I'm just happy it's still up and running. But if I could change the layout and other stuff, I would. As for search engine/ Google problems, I've got those too. Thanks for the link, which I'll be checking out.

And say hi to Charlie.

My blogger changed and I found the button to convert back to the old blogger because I really really really don't like the new blogger. It's functionality is terrible!

Our 'senior' human doesn't really understand the new blogger. :(

Mark said...

I've been using it since they started having it and I haven't really found any problems with it.

Simon Kewin said...

Thanks for that - the new interface has been causing me some problems that's for sure.

Jemi Fraser said...

I had all my A-Z posts scheduled and when I switched early to look at the updated site (and couldn't switch back), it changed all the spacing in my posts. I had to go back in and make the spacing normal again. *sigh*

Marg said...

Hi there Charlie. You are looking terrific. Yup the new blogger has everyone all messed up. I will never understand why they have to change everything around. Take care.

We have been trying the "new" version of blogger for a few weeks but have decided to move our blog to WordPress - hopefully moving will be as easy as people say but there again but it may be a few days yet.

Charlie, you've got a really good stretch going on there. You showing off or something?

Theresa Milstein said...

Old Kitty, I was pretty upset when they changed Gmail. I think it's less efficient. But I've been having an easier time uploading photos on the new Blogger. But I keep forgetting to pick my tags and put the titles before I publish!

Good luck coping with the changes. And thank you for the complaint link.

Happy week!

Theresa Milstein said...

I forgot to mention how fluffy and sweet Charlie is looking here! Spring really suits him.

I switched over to the new blogger a while back, so it all looks the same to me now!

Love that pic of Charlie!

Hart Johnson said...

Oh, Charlie looks so happy in the sun! And THANK YOU for that link. I hate, hate, hate the new blogger interface!

William Kendall said...

I'm doing a lot of grinding my teeth. Not happy about it at all.

Charlie needs to have a sit-down with the blogger people and scratch their eyes out.

Lots of trouble with the new blogger and many friends having trouble. Mum will check out that site.. Hugs GJ xx

We're using the new Blogger interface and have so far found nothing really bad about it....yet

Maria McKenzie said...

Thanks for that bloggie info! Charlie looks quite relaxed--what a life--lucky for him he doesn't have to deal with Blogger;).

Brigid O'Connor said...

I agree, its all very shiny and new. Charlie has the right idea:)

Tracy Jo said...

Thank you for the information about where to go on Blogger for constructive criticism. I was having trouble with my blog a week ago and it is so frustrating trying to find help. I did finally though so that is good. :-) I so LOVE Charlie! He looks so content and happy chillin in the sun. Hugs!

Rene said...

Blogger is always changing, it seems--sort of like Facebook!

Marilia said...

Hi Charlie, have a nice week!!!

Anonymous said...

I can't decide, there's things i like about it and things I hate. It seems that posting/editing is more laborious for sure.
Charlie looks so dreamy and relaxed.

Stina said...

Someone else complained on their post today about the new look. I don't like it either. And I know as soon as I figure it out, it will change again. :(

Anonymous said...

I was shocked seeing the new look a few days ago. Since I'm doing A-Z and I'm on it everyday, I've adjusted for the most part. I haven't tried all the functions yet.

Thanks for the link.

Carol Kilgore said...

Thanks for the links. I'm going to check them out.

Saku said...

Phew...I thought for a minute you were leaving blogspot! Then I read the rest of the post. I'm getting used to the change but can't seem to locate some of the functions I had before (resizing photos). But then I was relatively new to the whole world of blogging and hadn't figured out the old one yet, lol!

Charlie looks so happy to be hanging out in the sun! Enjoy!!!

Cat and DOG Chat With Caren said...

I HATE the new blogger!! So much so in fact that months ago when I first tried it I switched right back.

Do you use post scheduling? I do and it is NOT working! Hasn't worked since they changed it. I report it but I swear there are no humans that work for Blogger.

On a brighter note, Charlie looks sooooooo floofy and handsome lounging in the sun!

Eek - only just seen changes to Blogger - thanks for the heads up ... have discovered small cog icon, top right, which allows me to use the old blogger interface ... I know - it's cowardly and shameful ....but no time just now to get my head round the new one :-)

Yes, I'm still trying to get used to it. :( But thanks for the links!! That should be helpful. Have a good one! :)

Your kitty is beautiful! I had a gorgeous Himalayan for years but had to say goodbye to dear Cookie 18 months ago. I still miss her! Love seeing your kitty today. :)

Sun and a good stretch. I love it!

Thank you all so much for your comforting words when we lost Trapper. He's sorely missed, especially by mom Julie. He patiently sat by her side many hours while she worked. (we, the cats, I have to admit, came and went)

Have a wonderful day, knowing you're much appreciated for your kindnesses. xx

I'm getting used to it even with its quirky and mysterious links. It took me the longest time to remember how to pull up my scheduled posts! Why did that have to be a mystery?

The biggest problem is editing a scheduled post. You have to reenter the time with each edit, or the scheduler (I picture him as an evil dwarf) sets a different time. Sheesh!

Golden Eagle said...

I've been noticing a lot of posts about the new interface. I actually ended up with it sometime last year since I use draft.blogger.com; I remember that it was rather confusing when they first switched! Hope it doesn't give you too much trouble.

I am, I am...thanks for asking Charlie. The biggest thing I don't like aobut the new blogger is when I do an automatic post, it doesn't post it for me. It makes me wonder if I don't know how to tell time and I ask my husband what time zone we are in becuase maybe I don't have it correct :)
Charlie, I just want to reach out and pat that belly!

I do find it a little difficult to use, I must admit. I used to be able to move photos around very easily, but seem to have problems with this now.

Jenny Woolf said...

Glad that you are linking to that page, I have done so too on my blog and I kind of hope that if enough of us go to the page and register our views, then someone might do something.

I have just downloaded mercury browser app on my phone and if you thnk the new blogger is rubbish, just try to make sense of that. It is probably fine if you have 6 hours to figure out how to work it but if you are not a geek then don't bother. Sigh. I think it's getting more and more that you have to have been raised to this stuff from your cradle....

I'm a creature of habit and do not like it. I'll check out the link. Thanks!

Cynthia Chapman Willis said...

I'm getting used to it. Thanks for the links, though. I'm sure these will be helpful.

Charlie looks so happy and relaxed. Such an adorable guy. : )

Lydia Kang said...

I don't like the new interface, but I've gotten used to it I guess. I really loved the old one, though!

Seville at Nerissa's Life said...

I resisted switching way back when the new blogger was just an option but do you know what? I actually PREFER it to the old one! I think it's easier. And easier is way better when you've got a technologically challenged peep like I do!

Debra Harris-Johnson said...

None of my posts posted according to schedule. I will try to go back and change to old interface at least until the challenge is over. At first I couldn't find any of my posts. What an awful thing to happen at the end of A-Z. Charlie looks great and congrats on your published story! Way to go.

meowmeowmans said...

We're not wild about the new interface, but we're starting to get used to it. Thanks for the helpful links!

I've heard lots of people moaning about Blogger which is why we've gone for Wordpress for my blog.Fingers crossed it seems to working well.
Charlie's looking handsome!

William Kendall said...

Big thanks to Cheri for pointing that out; I've used that wheel to switch back to the old interface.

Hi Old Kitty .. I shall worry re Blogger and Google et al anon ..

Gosh glad Charlie can lie outside and stretch .. there's so much rain around ..

We'll get there - I really need a tutorial just for me!!

Many thanks for coming over all the time to the Castle posts - much appreciated ..

Cheers Hilary

The only part of the new interface that bothers me is how I view old posts and how I view Adsense.

It's become unwieldy to do either.

Jennifer Shirk said...

Two paws up. :-)
I switched to it a few months ago and am STILL not used to it.

GLOGIRLY said...

We changed to the new interface about a month ago and it was hard for just a couple of days, but now we LOVE it!!! We have more control, can see more and better in the draft stage and it's easier to add, move and resize photos. We found this cool video that might help.

Hope you're getting used to the new interface now, Jennifer.

Is the email really from you re: the forward to "hot properties?" I've never seen you sign an email with "Jenny," so I don't want to reply just in case I'm replying to a hacker or spammer. LOL.

D..J. Kirkby said...

Wow, what is going on with blogger then? I made the jump to wordpress last year and haven't looked back!

Katie Isabella said...

Abby said it..no directions. I have had the new interface on my human blog for a year..so I'm used to it. But I have stubbornly kept the old for the two cats' blogs. sigh.

Karen Jones Gowen said...

I don't mind it at all. What worries me however is that they're going to automatically link all our profiles to Google plus. A lot of bloggers already do that, I've heard once you do you can't go back. I don't like clicking on someone's Blogger profile link and being taken to their Google plus page.
