Small Print

Bloggie friends!

Earlier last month, I came across this competition – got all excited – until I read what the competition organisers do not categorically want.

“Avoid cat and dog stories”.

And the title of my story? The Cat Who Came to a Dog’s Dinner.

Always read the guidelines, the small print and/or the tiny writing under the space where you are about to sign, bloggie friends!

Charlie says: I look for signs of next door.

Finally, it’s Friday! Have a great weekend everyone.

It’s a 3 day Bank Holiday weekend here so see you all on Tuesday!

OMG, that is a riot! I also didn't read the fine print in a Mary Kay makeover competition. My daughter and I made over three girls age 17, they looked great...guess what, you have to 18 to enter!!! I didn't read the fine print! LOL
Have a great three day weekend!

I love that title! And i love that song about blogger in the previous post. I'm so afraid to comment these days when it ends up being a waste of time

You post made me laugh. Talk about typical! I get all excited about competitions and then discover only people in Southampton or those living in the US are eligible or something!
Hugs to Charlie, Borage caught another bird this morning! :O)

I had no idea you were in 100 stories! I am too :o) Looking forward to reading it!

Lovely pic...and a timely reminder to read the guidelines well! You have a great weekend too!

Kitty, that would be tragic if it wasn't so funny. I have got much better at reading guidelines, I use to just skim over them and get all my submissions wrong.
Hope you have a great long weekend, ours is the following weekend.

Princess Jasmine said...

Hello Charlie. Are you waiting for someone to play with from next door or is it an enemy?

Fuzzy Tales said...

Oops. LOL. I hope you get to submit the story to another competition, though.

Enjoy your long weekend! It's Memorial Day weekend in the US, I believe, so they get a long weekend too. Gee, maybe we Canadians could have 2 consecutive long weekends? LOL.

Fancy not wanting cat and dog stories for the competition - they don't know what they are missing!
Charlie enjoy this weekend cos you'll have your mum at home for an extra day (although on second thoughts she might cramp your style with the ladies!!)
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

I'd say "Bah, humbug" to them! Save your story for a more welcoming contest, Jen.

Have a wonderful weekend! It is a three day Memorial Day weekend here in the US.

What? No cat and dog stories? That's no fun at all. :(

Have a great holiday weekend!

Good thing you read the fine print. That is kind of silly to have something like that. What is wrong with dogs and cats anyway?? Hope you have a nice long week end.

Hi! Fangs for stoppin by our bloggie! We like stories about cats and dogs the most, unlike those people, hahameow!

So true. I was going to send a short story somewhere and then read they wanted stories with a 'warmth' about them. My story was like Bleak House in a Bleak Mid-winter with a Bleak Ending. Needless to say I didn't send it there, but am so glad I double-checked the requirements!

Theresa Milstein said...

No way!

But reading fine print is so tedious.

It's a 3-day weekend in the US too. Memorial Day on Monday. Enjoy!

Shannon O'Donnell said...

That's too funny, Kitty! If you had entered, they probably would have thought it was a joke. :-)

Charlies seems so aloof at times. But then again, he's a cat. He's too cool for us humans.

Patsy said...

My usual mistake regarding skim read guidelines is to write something twice the maximum permitted length. Or to think the closing date was a month later. Or not to notice I wasn't eligible.

OK, I agree. I should read them properly.

Thank you very much for sending so many purrs and headbutts to make us feel comforted and much loved. Please thank your mom for us.

Well, you can go for the cats and dogs competition. We are sure you have lots to tell.

Thank you for pointing this out! So many people send their stories to inappropriate markets.

Bank Holiday falls on Memorial Day so there won't be too many blogs being posted on Monday. Hope you & Charlie have a fun & relaxing day!

Hello Old Kitty! I'm back! Thank you for being patient with me and for always being on my blog. You have been such a good bloggie friend : Can I give you a hug? *BIG HUG*

This post made me laugh. LOL. I sometimes miss a few important words, too.

Have a beautiful weekend!

I love the look on Charlie's face- like he just can't be bothered with trivial matters such as no dog or cat stories; really? look at what they are missing out on!
