Speech! Rabbit! Speech!

Bloggie friends!

This is my review of The King’s Speech:

Grab your popcorn and GO SEE! I loved it! :-)

My viewing pleasure was only ruined very slightly by this young couple who not only insisted on sitting next to me half way through the film, but then proceeded to whisper incessantly and coil themselves around each other.

Now I’m no prude and I didn’t mind, but unfortunately they then committed the most cardinal sin of all.

The silly young man took out his iphone and turned it on.

Charlie says: I am sleepy with my string.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! IT'S THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT!

Enjoy your carrots!

I hate that!
The glint of a cell phone in the dark cinema!

Though, dare I say it, worse was the time I went to see Romeo and Juliet and the teenagers behind me started screeching at the sad/poison taking moment...

(I'm trying to stay emotional and all I hear is )

"She's dead ye ejet!"

mmm!

turned his phone ON? How absolutely rude!

I hope to see it before Oscar time. And people with cell phones in movie theaters are the worst!

Mom said she wants to see The King's Speech...but she would have been annoyed at that young couple.

I hate the cell phones in the theater! Evan and I tend to sit towards the back, so you can see the sea of screens...so annoying!

Boo for rude movie goers. My daughter and I want to go see it sans popcorn.

What is it with cats and strings? My kitty cat loves strings as well. She couldn't care less for the toys we get her. She loves her string. ;) I'm so glad to hear you liked this film: it's on my to-see list. One of my friends told me it's excellent and she also recommended it. Off to the movies, I go!

Happy year of the rabbit to you too!

I've only heard good things about The King's Speech, so it's on my must-see list.

And boo to iphones.

OMGG. NO. That totally is NOT on. Do they not know how painful the glare is??

Argh. Not as as when I went to Eclipse. MISTAKE. So much giggling and shrieking

I really want to see that! Glad to hear such positive things.

Very rude young couple! Too bad they couldn't have been escorted out of the theatre.

I'm glad to read you enjoyed it; perhaps I can make time in the next week or two to see it. :-)

Glad you enjoyed the film - pity about the pair sat next to you - how stupid of them to have the phone on - not to mention very anti-social. On the other paw Charlie seemed to enjoy his evening with the string!!

That's sure a cute picture of Charlie! Hey, my Dad said that because of folks like that they don't go out to the movies any more!

I really dislike phones being on during a movie as well. Glad you liked the movie though

Charlie’s a darlin’ – unlike idiots with cell-phones.

Have a nice day, Boonie

Happy Year of the Rabbit to you too. And of course Charlie. Loving those carrots. I just hate when people totally disregard others at the cinema. How Rude!

Oh good glad you liked that movie. How rude of that couple. I would have spilled my popcorn on them.

Take care and stay warm.

I read the review. It sounds wonderful!

Your comment re: my lost purse. Oh my. Keys have been my downfall lately also, but fortunately I had both sets in my coat pocket. Usually I put one set in my purse and then the other around my neck on a string. And you left your keys at work, and then there's the travel pass! Yes, let's blame it on the long, cold winter. I'm willing to blame this on anything except early onset dementia!!!!

Jen seconds the motion, and sends her love to you and Charlie. So do I!!!!!

Oh that is so ridiculous that the couple not only came in half way through the movie, but that they then proceeded to be annoying - I would have gotten management or something (or asked for my money back because of it). Of course I say that and probably wouldn't do it but it is nice to dream of it!

Charlie looks so cute with his string - Stella likes to sleep with her pipecleaners, so I understand it!

I loved The King's Speech!! I highly recommend it--hopefully without a young couple and iphone beside you!

Glad you loved the film, I've heard a lot of people rave about it!

Are you sure you're relaxed enough there Charlie?

My cat Mischa does a good impression of a rabbit, she lolls on her back with her head back and draws up her feet like a bunny, with her front paws curled, so cute. I'll take a photo next time she does it, it's hard to describe hehe! Strange girl, perhaps it's her way of celebrating the Year of the Rabbit.

You should let Charlie know that in some parts of Asia, it is the year of the CAT.

People with cell phones should all be sent outside.

The Monkeys said...

It's amazing how people still do that!

Charlie, you look very worn out from playing with your string!

Golden Eagle said...

People always seem to have their phones out. *sigh*

Happy Chinese New Year to you, too! :)

I'd love to see the Kings Speech. I'm not a fan of the cinema though for the precise reason you experienced. So, I might wait...

Hi there,
I've heard rave reviews about that film and my mum went and saw it in Vancouver. She loved it!
And those folks in the movie theatre..today's technology has brought to us a whole new form of rudeness!

Every time I go to the movies I put my feet on the seat in front of me in the hopes that no would would dare sit in front of me and it works almost every time!
God forbid if someone talks near me but I think the cell phone issue is far, far worse! Where have all the manners gone?
Thank you for your comments about PUDDLES the dachshund's barking issues! I'm sure she will take your advice!

Loved your use of the word coiled each other-snakes. I have a friend who insists on chatting-so I do not go with her anymore. Given I live in the infamous OC people think the world is theirs-cell phone conversations during a movie are astounding to me.

Love your review almost as much as I LOVE Colin Firth. I just read Pride and Prejudice, and pictured Firth as Darcy the whole time.

Happy Chinese New Year!
