Of Cobs and Best Tokens

Bloggie friends!

Before I show you my yummy Cob bread, does anyone need extra bonus tokens from Best magazine for their short story competition?

The tokens were published each week in their mag plus extra ones.

So if you’d like an extra two please do email me! You need to have four to enter the competition.

I have my story all written for it – I’ll never win but YOU MIGHT!!

This is a great opportunity to crack that oh so elusive and ever so shrinking commercial women’s magazine fiction market. Thanks lovely womagwriter and Patsy for the heads up!

So, without much further ado, here is my Cob! Ta-da! I halved the amount of the ingredients from this recipe!

In the meantime, Charlie gets high on pruned bits of old potted catnip!

Have a fantabulous weekend everyone!

Oh, you just might win! I've read several of your stories, and you're an excellent writer. Jen and I will keep our fingers crossed for you XXXXX

And yes, commercial women's magazine fiction has shrunk from 10 to 1 in MY lifetime. And thus the competition is incredible. But it never hurts to try!

The bread looks yummy! Wish we could drop in and have some. But the real treat would be seeing you and Charlie!!

Your Cob bread looks yummy! I really ought to look for gluten-free bread recipes and actually try them. :-)

Good luck re: the story competition--you never know, you certainly could win, IMO!

The boys say they'll stick with nip too. :-)

Goodness that bread looks yummy. You are such a good cook. Charlie do help Mom cook. Maybe the nip is better after it dries out. We will have to try that with ours. Hope you all have a great day

I so love the pic of Charlie getting high on catnip. Gorgeous looking cob too.
I don't read Best Magazine that often so I have zero token, but good luck with your entry :O)

Aw Charlie looks blissed out!

You are such a fab cook, Kitty! As for Best - I am hanging my head. I bought the magazine with the first token in it but then forgot completely, so now do not have enough anyway, despite your kind offer. And who says you won't win, madam?! You never know - in the words of the lottery man - it could be you! Have a fab weekend!

Hey Missy, you lose that "I'll never win" attitude.
Don't make me have to fly over there and do an intervention!

Good luck.

Hi Kitty. stopping by from the BBQ. The bread looks lovely! So did the nasturtium salad. I will look forward to trying some of your recipes if I can adjust the measurements! I'll be following!

Thanks for coming to my party.

Charlie looks so contented resting on the pruned bits of the catnip. You should leave them there for him.

Good luck with your entry - hope you win!!!

My SS has just come back from your part of the world. She has lived there from time to time for research and study and she loved it every time.

HI. I popped over from Karen's shindig, and my cats told me I MUST leave a comment. (Not really. The "energetic" little girls are both napping on top of my desk.)

Nice to meet you!

Cob bread and catnip!

What is cob bread?

Charlie, will you please share your catnip? I feel in need of some.

What a delicious loaf of bread! I would want to eat the whole loaf wit lots of butter while it was still hot form the oven...yum!

Good luck on the More magazine contest -- you never know unless you try!

I can't give cat nip to my Bo -- he gets very mean and aggressive when he eats it. He is usually a very sweet mild mannered boy so it obviously does not agree with him.
